Dry Cleaning Marketing

Steve Jobs is one smart dude. He was weird. Had some quirks. BUT…he was really, really good at what he did. So with that in mind, I think you and I should listen to what he has to say.

Be smart. Anyone can be smart. I’m not real book smart, but I’m “starting companies” smart. I started 33 of them. I learned most of what I know from my setbacks and failures. I think that is what Steve is saying. Be smart about your business. You know what’s good and what’s bad for your business. Doing what’s right is the challenge. So be smart about that.Steve-Jobs-from-legendstoys.jp-1

Be thoughtful. Think about what your customers would want. When you go into other businesses, think about what would make that business better and start applying those things to your dry cleaning business.

Be generous. Especially with your employees. They are your most valuable asset. If you treat then right, they will treat your customers right.

Don’t buy what the world is trying to sell you. Believe in your own ideas. There are many, many ways to build and and run your business that will be successful. Use your ideas. Get crazy. Get wild. If you think it’s a good idea, it probably is. I do video’s of myself cooking. What’s that got to do with dry cleaning? Nothing. But my customers like it. They tell me all the time. When I do my automated reminder calls, I give my positive quote of the week. My customers love this and it keeps them interested in my business.

Opportunity looks a lot like hard work. No job is beneath you on your path to success. It is hard work. If you gotta knock on doors to get route customers, you go do it. It’s NOT beneath you. I did it when I had to. You MUST do whatever it takes to become successful.

Don’t surrender to life as it is. Rebuild it for yourself and others. Do not live according to what others expect of you. Live the life you’ve always dreamed of. This was a constant goal of mine. Each business I stared got me closer to this. And I’m proud to say that the dry cleaning industry has provided this for me. I’m the envy of my friends. Go out and live your life and don’t let anyone or anybody stop you.
